Cheer Season – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1) Is the tryout clinic mandatory to be considered for the season?
Yes. Attendance at the tryout clinic is required to be considered for team placement. However, we understand that special circumstances may arise, such as relocation, scheduling conflicts, or participation in other sports. In these cases, an alternative or video tryout may be considered. Please contact the VP of Cheer to discuss any challenges with attending the clinic.
2) When registering my daughter, there were two teams listed. Is she guaranteed placement on the older team?
No. If an athlete is eligible for multiple teams, placement is based on where she will be the best overall fit. Factors considered include grade level balance, maturity, tumbling ability, stunting skills, and overall team needs. Our goal is to position each athlete where she can grow, succeed, and contribute positively. Please note that team placement is not guaranteed and is dependent on available roster spots and demonstrated skills.
3) What tumbling skills are required for each team?
Below are the recommended tumbling skills for each division. Skills must be performed independently (without a spot) to count. While tumbling is not the only factor for placement, athletes are expected to be enrolled in tumbling classes in addition to practicing during the season.
